The SIVAC Initiative assists in the establishment or strengthening of functional, sustainable National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) in GAVI-eligible and middle-income countries. The aim is to enhance the use of of evidence-based decision making in the development of immunization programs and policies. SIVAC provides support in the form of technical assistance, training, tools development, and information sharing.

The SIVAC Initiative is pleased to announce the launch of the first phase (version 1.0) of the NITAG Resource Center. The NITAG Resource Center provides information, tools, and briefings to NITAGs and to the global immunization community in order to improve the use of evidence-based decision-making processes at national level for immunization policies and programs.

SIVAC meets with its partners during WHO EMRO regional meeting in Cairo, Egypt
SIVAC attended the 26th Intercountry Meeting of National Managers of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) and the 2nd Meeting of the Chairpersons of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG), held in Cairo, Egypt, from July 4-7, 2010. During these meetings, SIVAC met with the representatives from Lebanon and Tunisia to discuss the next steps for strengthening their respective NITAGs in collaboration with WHO/EMRO. SIVAC also met with country representatives to discuss the possibility of providing technical support to their NITAGs, as recommended by meeting participants.
