Tunisia expresses interest in working with SIVAC
In February 2010, WHO/EMRO, SIVAC, and the Network for Education & Support in Immunization (NESI) visited Tunisia to evaluate the feasibility of working with national authorities to strengthen the country's NITAG. In the next several weeks, SIVAC will follow up to this first visit and continue to work with partners to develop its activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.

SIVAC finalizes a journal supplement dedicated to NITAGs
The supplement, which will appear in Vaccine in April 2010, will include 15 articles from different countries describing the functioning of their NITAGs; a summary of the findings of the 15 countries; a WHO guidance document; a presentation of the SIVAC initiative; and a global overview of NITAGs.

SIVAC participates in discussions to advance NITAG development
At the fifth annual Global Immunization Meeting held in Geneva February 1-3, 2010, SIVAC and WHO organized a side meeting on the development of indicators for effective NITAGs. During the meeting, representatives from Canada's NITAG, WHO/EMRO, and other WHO programs (Health Metrics Network) shared their experience with participants.

SIVAC explores a possible new partnership
On February 9, 2010, the SIVAC Director attended a meeting at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) on the development of a research strategy for a project on vaccine introduction decision making. This was the opportunity to meet with partners and to discuss possible collaboration with LSHTM.
