Organization & infrastructure

March 2009 - SIVAC team meeting at International Vaccine Institute (IVI) HQ in Seoul, Korea, to build the one year and the five years work plans of the initiative.

Partnership

April 2009 - Participation in the Scientific Advisor Group of Experts (SAGE) meeting at WHO HQ and side meetings with several partners to evaluate potential collaboration.

March 2009 - Presentation and discussion of SIVAC at WHO SEARO office in Delhi, India and at WHO WPRO office in Manila, Philippines.

March 2009 - Participation at GAVI Sub-Regional Working-Group for Eastern and Southern Africa in Mombasa, Kenya.

February 2009 - Organization of a closed meeting about ITAG at the Global Immunization Meeting (GIM) in New York City, USA, under the UNICEF lead, in collaboration with WHO and AMP.

February 2009 - Presentation and discussion of the SIVAC initiative to the WHO AFRO Regional Director and office in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo.

January 2009 - Several meetings with teams from WHO, GAVI, and PATH in Geneva, Switzerland.

Countries

April 2009 - Meeting in Cote d'Ivoire to present the process to design the future committee. A group has been convened to develop a concept paper describing how the country will establish the committee.

April 2009 - Visit to Cambodian and Lao health authorities and partners to evaluate the possibility of a support from SIVAC in the establishment of national committees.

March 2009 - Following previous discussions, Cote d'Ivoire, in an official letter from Minister of Health, asked the SIVAC initiative to support the establishment of a national committee.

March 2009 - SIVAC visit in Kenya with representatives from Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases and PATH to discuss the likely support of SIVAC for establishing a national committee.

January 2009 - Presentation of SIVAC to Dr Placido Cardosso, General Director of the Western African Health Organization (WAHO) in Ougadougou, Burkina-Faso.

January 2009 - SIVAC visit in Cote d'Ivoire with national health authorities and partners to discuss the possibility of SIVAC for establishing a national committee.
