HOW WILL THE SIVAC INITIATIVE OPERATE? |

The SIVAC initiative will support the establishment or strengthening of Independent National Immunization and Vaccine Advisory Committees by: |
| |
| |
To establish a project infrastructure and partnerships that ensure maximum coordination with other global and regional efforts to improve evidence-based decision making related to immunization policies and programs.
| |
| |
To support creation of at least 7 national ITAGs in middle income and GAVI eligible countries worldwide.
| |
| |
To support establishment of one/several inter-country ITAGs in GAVI eligible countries in West Africa after feasibility studies.
| |
| |
To create a technical resource and training center to provide information, tools, and training to ITAGs and to the global immunization community to improve evidence-based decision making process.
| |
| |
To support at least 6 new and existing ITAGs (middle income and GAVI eligible countries worldwide) in making specific recommendations for immunization policies and programs through evidence-based decision making processes
(e.g. Introducing Rota: what are the data available, what other data do I need, what has been decided in other countries, what are the financial implications?, what are the consequences on my logistic chain…, and finally should we recommend this new vaccine?).
