Batmunkh Nyambat, MD, MPH

Coordinator for Central Asia

Dr. Batmunkh Nyambat coordinates SIVAC activities in Central Asia. Since 2001, he has worked as a researcher in the Division of Translational Research at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, he designed and implemented disease burden studies on diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections among children in Cambodia, China, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. He was also involved in PneumoNet, a study that aimed to assess the burden of invasive pneumococcal diseases in China, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Dr. Batmunkh Nyambat obtained his medical degree from National Medical University in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 1998. Following his medical training, he earned a Master of Public Health degree at the Graduate School of Public Health, Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea in 2001.
